Is it even worth learning web development if you can just use a platform like Wix or Shopify?

Very broad question. It depends on what you are trying to accomplish. WIX and Shopify are easy to setup and you do not need coding but you are limited to the platform what you can do with your site. You have options but the options are provided by WIX or Shopify. If you want to do something else you may not be able to offer the feature. If you are going this route I would recommend a WordPress site. They are pretty popular and offer many plugins. You still may have a problem if the feature you want doesn’t fit. There are many coders specializing in Word Press and it’s decent for SEO.
