The question seem backwards. First you should determine what’s your target market. By target market we are referring to your ideal customer for your product or service. Once you have determined who is your target market you can test different methods. Repeat-TESTING IS KEY. Only by testing different forms of marketing can you determine which method is best. You might believe since your grandmother never used a computer that direct mail is best and you probably have a better chance reaching someone like that by that method but you must first determine the ideal customer and then try different methods to see which is best
